Gold Coast (4): Natural Bridge

It was a fulfilling day on the Springbrook Plateau. We still have time for one more place of interest, so we decided to hop over to the other side of the National Park. The kids and ladies took a break in the car while I drove for another 30 mins to the other side of Springbrook to visit the famous Natural Bridge. For the other walks and lookouts other than the Canyon Lookout, we were quite exclusively enjoying the serenity with only a couple of bushwalkers. But at Natural Bridge, there were more tourists. Not too crowded though, just people walking in and out. As usual, there would be an information board for my our general education.

It was a 1 km round walk. One third was steep slopes with flights of stairs to the falls, the other two thirds were gentler slopes for wheel chairs or strollers access. We took the stairs down and gentle slope up. What we saw down there was exactly like the sights on the postcards – simply mesmerising.

The stayed there for a while, enjoying our drinks, but not place to snack. We move on round the gentle slope up. The view from the top of the Natural Bridge was an interesting one.

There were bats and glow worms in the cave. If you are prepared to stay until sunset, you can get a glimpse of the glow worms on the cave wall. But as we were not prepared for the night, we have to leave the area in daylight. The kids were also tired. This had been the longest walk compared to earlier in the day. By the time we were back at the car park, it was going to be sunset.

45 mins later, we were back to civilisation and having a well-deserved dinner.

  1. The first step to make life simple is to change the frequency of your thought process, open your eyes to see things differently perhaps, let your emotion be your guide (believe in yourself) and let go of your past perception(s), embrace the unknown and see what you comes to you…….. don’t be afraid to have some fun whilst making the change. After all, what have you got to lose?
